Sand Hills Lighthouse

A short distance down 5 Mile Point sticks out into Lake Superior.  As we approach near shore we get to see the Sand Hills Lighthouse.  The architecture stands in striking contrast to all the other lighthouses on the tour.  It looks as if this building could exist in an old New England town somewhere rather than keeping guard of Lake Superior.  It is a pleasant change and shows the vast sphere of influence the Copper Country has had culturally.
