Day 5

Gift of Counsel
Permanent capacity to receive the light of Jesus' counsel, so that we can use it to make acts of, and develop habits of, supernatural counsel.  These acts and habits enable us to discern what God wants us to think, say, or do at each moment; and to plan a daily agenda, along with the ways and means to carry it out.

Virtue of Justice
Permanent capacity to receive Jesus' power of justice, so that we can use it to make acts of, and develop habits of, supernatural justice.  These acts and habits enable us to always do the right thing, consistently giving ourselves firm, effective self-commands to always do God's Will, and keep our New Covenant with Him.

Capital Sin: Envy
Tendency to sadness at others' good fortune, success, talents, etc. - inspired by pride.  Envy produces cunning in efforts to cut others down, spoil their success, manipulate them, and exalt self.  It addicts us to cunning and hypocrisy as perverse substitutes for true counsel and justice.
