All of these early summer wildflowers were found between June 21 and July 5th in different areas of Ontonagon and Houghton Counties. More flowers will be added which have already been taken as they are identified.

The Porcupine Mountains is Michigan's largest State Park with hundreds of miles of trails to challenge all levels of hiking. Sites along Lake Superior or many interior lakes and the many rivers flowing in the park, make this a must on everyone's summer journey.

The nations largest Armed Forces parade, the Parade of Thanks 2008, paraded through the towns of Houghton and Hancock, Michigan on a cold and very windy Saturday morning on May 17, 2008. Hundreds of veterans from World War II to the present war were celebrated and given a continuous applause by the crowds lining the streets of both towns. This picture gallery captured the parade and is our "thank you" to all the brave men and women who have committed their lives for our great country.

On the longest day of the year, June 21, 2006 a major storm rolled through the Western UP, knocking out electricity throughout the Copper Country. 6 1/2 hours without power. But the beauty that accompanied the storm can be appreciated here!
